LAKE COUNTY SUMMER JAZZ PROGRAM
Come be a part of this exciting inaugural summer program! Centered in the belief that Music Education and the Performing Arts are of vital importance in child’s well-balanced education, the Lake County Summer Jazz Program endeavors to provide a co-curricular Music Education and performance opportunity for students in grades 7-12 in the area of Jazz. STUDENTS DO NOT HAVE TO BE ONLY LAKE COUNTY RESIDENTS
The Lake County Summer Jazz Program serves as an extension of school music programs and home-schooled students by providing continued opportunities for development and musical growth during the summer holiday through performance and aesthetic exploration. Participation in one of our performing ensembles will help support the self-expression of each individual, while valuing the importance of thoughtful collaboration within a larger group.
The Lake County Summer Jazz Program is gearing up to launch its inaugural 2023 summer season! This exciting program will run beginning the week of June 5th and conclude on July 14th with a culminating evening performance! Rehearsals will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for students entering grades 10-12 and held on Monday and Wednesday evenings for students entering grades 7-9. All rehearsals will be conducted at Caponi’s Cannoli’s School of the Arts in Minneola. Membership fee for this (6) week program $500.00, and discounts are available for siblings of same family. STUDENTS WILL NEED TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN INSTRUMENTS. IF YOU HAVE ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS, USE CONTACT BELOW.
Jumpin’ Jazz Ensemble (Students in grades 7-9 as of September 2023)
This intermediate ensemble for younger aspiring musicians explores a wide range of music from the early swing of the 1920s to the exciting jazz/rock fusion of the 1980s to today’s contemporary jazz. Students will also learn to develop and apply skills in basic improvisation, music appreciation, music theory and ear training. This ensemble will rehearse Monday & Wednesday evenings 6:30PM-8:30PM beginning Monday, June 5th
Cannoli Kickers (Students in grades 10-12 as of September 2023)
This ensemble for more experienced musicians explores a wide range of music genres from the early swing of the 1920s to the exciting jazz/rock fusion of the 1980s to today’s contemporary jazz. Students will also further develop and apply skills in improvisation, music theory, ear training, style and analysis. This ensemble will rehearse Tuesday & Thursday evenings 7:00PM-9:00PM beginning Tuesday, June 6th.

Auditions are not required, however, for the child’s enjoyment and added comfort, we do ask for students have at least (2) years’ experience with their instrument and reading music. There is a non-refundable registration fee of $50.00 for all enrolled participants, and applications will be accepted until the ensemble roster is full.
